REDLANDS – A business owner who has gone through the hassle of ordering company shirts may find Don Anderson to be a breath of fresh air.
Anderson, owner of Hobo T-shirts, designs and prints T-shirts in his Cajon Street office.
“A dentist was in the area for consulting. He walked in, I made him a couple shirts on the spot,” he said.
Anderson and his wife, Marta, started printing T-shirts in their garage in Santa Barbara.
“I was doing cutting on the barstool, folding on the bed,” she said.
They eventually had to leave their jobs as medical administrators to make custom apparel full time.
“We specialized in things people couldn’t find and (we) felt people were looking for,” Don said.
Don established a following for boat T-shirts. The boats logo – like Cigarette, which is emblazoned on a display apron outside his office – is often printed on the front and a picture of the boat on the back.
“People love their boats – the problem is they don’t know where to get (T-shirts),” Don said.
They moved to San Bernardino a year and a half ago, and Don decided to open an office in Redlands.
“That’s why we came to Redlands – to let people know they can have these things, and there’s not really anything like this,” he said.
Don does graphic design and also has a collection of art people can choose from. He designed a special shirt when Michael Jackson died, and said he does brisk business with sports teams like the Lakers, Raiders and Dodgers, and retro images. Besides his Web site, he sells on eBay and Amazon.
Don said he wants to establish a niche for company shirts.
“We want to hit businesses who want shirts made for their employees,” he said.
James Keo, owner of Chenla Auto Repair in San Bernardino, ordered 40 shirts for his employees from Anders.
“He did a good job – he did a lot of custom design for me,” Keo said. “It was a good-quality T-shirt, good price. I recommended him to somebody, too.”
The Andersons have a press that fuses a design to a shirt in 20 seconds, at about 400 degrees.

Quest Software has announced a limited time offer to drive desktop virtualization adoption at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference.
Through December 31, the company noted, Microsoft is providing a 70 percent discount on its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Standard Suite for up to 250 devices or 20 percent of a customer’s desktops covered by a Client Access License (CAL) or Enterprise Client Access License suite, whichever is less, through an Enterprise or Select, Open Value, or Campus and School family of agreements. Quest reported it is offering a 50 percent discount, through December 31, on Quest vWorkspace Enterprise licenses for up to 500 devices, providing virtual desktop management and delivery for VDI, Terminal Server/Session Host and App-V deployments.
“We don’t have the budget of a 10,000 person company, but we have to deliver the same level of service with limited IT staff,” said David Pugliese, system engineer at AccuData Integrated Marketing. “VDI gives people an environment for getting the job done. Other solutions we evaluated had limited flexibility, with a rigid design and approach at a higher cost. Quest vWorkspace provided integration and support for the Microsoft virtualization stack, together with management functionality from a single interface. Unlike solutions that have different consoles for each functional area, Quest vWorkspace allows us to focus on delivering value versus learning and re-learning disparate management tools.”

There are more than 400 Drive In theatres across the United States still in operation, newly built or reopened. The first Drive In opened back in 1933 and grew by 1948 to a total of 820.
The 1950′s saw the biggest increase and by 1958 there was a whopping 5,000 Drive In theatres with some large enough to accommodate up to 3,000 cars or more.
Attendance started to drop in the 1960′s and by the 1980′s the number of Drive In theatres still open for business had dwindled down to less that 1,000.

Technology company Computer Generated Solutions Inc (CGS) announced on Tuesday that boot maker Lucchese Boot Company has selected CGS BlueCherry to replace legacy business software at its El Paso, Texas (USA) headquarters.
No financial details were disclosed.
According to the company, the BlueCherry Enterprise Suite will be used by multiple teams to manage business processes spanning new product development, manufacturing and customer delivery. Lucchese expects the new system will help streamline its concept-to-customer business process and increase operational efficiencies.
The implementation will provide the core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, offering financial, order and manufacturing management capabilities, as well as integrated product lifecycle management (PLM) and warehouse management system (WMS) software modules.
In addition, Lucchese will utilise BlueCherry’s built-in Report Builder to simplify system reporting and support management by exception, Tool Box Builder to make in-house system configuration changes and Data Conversion tools to speed implementation of the new system.
